Dairy Products and Artificial Sweeteners

Two of the largest dairy organizations are petitioning the FDA to allow aspartame and other artificial sweeteners to be added to dairy products without having to put it on the label. The proponents claim that adding artificial sweeteners would lead to healthier eating and be good for school children. A Yale University study directly opposes this claim, saying that artificial sweeteners contribute to obesity and Type 2 diabetes.
